TO: Patrons and Community Members of the School District

FROM: Board of Trustees

DATE: August 11, 2026

SUBJECT: Notice of Open Meeting Law Technical Non-Compliance and Rescheduled Special Meeting

The School District is committed to maintaining full transparency and strict adherence to Idaho’s Open Meeting Law (Idaho Code § 74-204). We are issuing this public notice to acknowledge a posting oversight regarding our recent school board meeting and to outline the necessary corrective actions being taken.

While physical notices and agendas for the meeting were timely posted in the district schools and the district office last week, an internal administrative oversight occurred regarding the digital distribution. Due to an unchecked box during the web scheduling process, the automated website posting and email notifications did not publish as intended. Although the administrative error was identified and corrected at 6:43 a.m. on Monday, this did not satisfy the full 48-hour electronic posting window required by law prior to the meeting.

We deeply value the public’s trust and the importance of open governance. Because full compliance with both physical and electronic notice requirements is vital to our community’s right to participate, any actions or discussions from the affected meeting will be voided in accordance with Idaho Code § 74-208.

To ensure all items are considered openly, lawfully, and with proper advance notice, the Board of Trustees will reconvene for a Special Meeting:

  • Date: Friday, August 14, 2026

  • Time: 7:30 a.m.

  • Location: District Office Boardroom

The full agenda for this meeting has been officially posted physically and is live on the district website. We sincerely apologize for this oversight and any inconvenience it may have caused our patrons. We appreciate your continued support and understanding as we work to uphold the highest standards of transparency for our district.
