Child Nutrition Program Meal Charging Procedure

Elementary K-5 grades:

  • Students are allowed to charge 3 school lunches (this applies whether students are paying full price or reduced prices.)
  • After the third charge students will be served a peanut butter sandwich and milk.
  • Allergies will be taken into consideration.
  • Notification will be sent once a student is charging.
  • There will be no charging the last two weeks of the school year.

South Fremont Jr. High 6-8 grades:

  • Students are allowed to charge 3 school lunches (this applies whether students are paying full price or reduced prices.)
  • After the third charge students will be served a peanut butter sandwich and milk.

North Fremont Jr./Sr. High 6-12 grades:

  • Students grade 6-12 are allowed to charge 3 school lunches (this applies whether students are paying full price or reduced prices.)

  • Notification will be sent once a student is charging.

South Fremont High School 9-12 grades:

  • Students grade 6-12 are allowed to charge 3 school lunches (this applies whether students are paying full price or reduced prices.)
  • After the third charge students grade 9-12 will be served a peanut sandwich and milk.
  • Allergies will be taken into consideration.
  • Notification will be sent once a student is charging.
  • There will be no charging the last two weeks of the school year.

 

Faculty and Staff will not be allowed to charge any portion of their meal.

 

The District has been given guidance from State Food and Nutrition officials stating the cashier at the school is no longer allowed by federal guidelines to tell the students when they have a low or negative balance on their account, unless the student asks the cashier for their balance.  A notice will be posted at the cashier location telling  the students they may ask for their balances at any time.
