IDAHO ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES SCHOLARSHIP FUND, INC.


Six scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each will be awarded to eligible children of county employees working more than 20 hours per week and the children and grandchildren of county elected officials by the Idaho Association of Counties Scholarship Fund on behalf of the members of the Idaho Association of Counties (IAC).  Recipients must attend any Idaho college, university or vocational/technical school full-time for the 2009-2010 academic year and be enrolled in either an academic or a vocational education program leading towards a degree or certification.  You must complete and submit all application requirements before the deadline or your application will be eliminated from consideration.

Westmark Credit Union Scholarships

An applicant must be a member of Westmark Credit Union; plan to attend a State Accredited Post Secondary School (not exclusively Idaho, but any state); use the scholarship funds in the summer or fall of 2010; and have a GPA of at least 3.50.

Huntsman Scholarship at Idaho State University

$5,000 offered to 20 incoming freshman students. Open to students from southeast Idaho (first preference to residents of Teton, Bonneville, and Bannock counties; secondary preference to students from counties adjacent to those three counties). Students must have a 3.00 high school GPA, demonstrate financial need (must file the FAFSA for 2010-11 by March 26, 2010), and demonstrate leadership, talent and/or academic ability.

The John and Olive Adams Foundation will award scholarships up to the amount of $1000 to qualifying students who plan to further their education at an accredited college, university or technical college located withing the ste of Idaho. Horatio Alger Association Scholarship Program

The scholarship programs provide financial assistance to students throughout the nation who have financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. Scholarship criteria also include high school graduation in spring/summer of 2010, commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree, and United States citizenship.

Farmers Insurance is proud to sponsor The 2010 Idaho Fraud Awareness Coalition

Organized by the Idaho Department of Insurance will sponsor a scholarship contest for high school students graduating in 2010. The scholarship sponsor this year is Farmers Insurance

The objective of the Coalition is to educate the public about:
-the cost of Fraud,
-the consequences and impact of fraud on society,
-and how to recognize and report fraud to the appropriate authorities.

To be considered for the scholarship, high school seniors must submit an original essay following these guidelines:
-Essays must be at least 500 words in length on the topic, "How Fraud Impacts Idahoans."
-Essays must be typewritten and include a bibliography and cover page identifying the author and contact information.

Amount: $1000, $750.00, and $250.00 Winners will be notified in writing by the Coalition on or before June 1, 2010.

Campesinos Unidos de Idaho
“Families from the Fields” Scholarship Program

There will be scholarships in the amount of $2500. Additional $1,000 scholarships will also be awarded during the spring of 2010. These scholarships are made available from funds provided to Campesinos Unidos by the Lynd Hoover Scholarship Endowment.
Idaho and eastern Oregon residents who are or have been farm workers and wo will be a college student during the 2010-2011 school year may apply.
